For the Newcomer

If you have an interest in meditation, Zen and/or Buddhism in general, we invite you to attend a Newcomers' Instruction session at ZenSpace. These sessions give a brief introduction to meditation and Buddhist practice, and most who attend find them informative and helpful.

For those particularly interested in joining us for Zazen (sitting meditation), whether as a novice or experienced meditator, we invite you also to attend a Newcomers' Instruction session. In addition to providing general information about the practice, our center's procedures are explained, and it gives a good opportunity to get a feel for the ZenSpace community.

The Zen Practice tab at the top of the page will lead you to our pages that go into some depth about various aspects of meditation and the Buddhist path.

Newcomers who would like to receive meditation instructions are welcome most days we are open. Please check our schedule page to confirm days and times for newcomer's instructions. If you'd like to receive meditation instructions on a Sunday, please send us an email scheduling@zenspace.org to let us know you will be arriving early so we can meet you there.
